JOHNSON STATE TO HOLD FREE LECTURE SERIES THIS FALL FEATURING VERMONT POLITICAL CANDIDATES, NEWS COLUMNIST
JOHNSON, Vt. – Vermonters will get the chance to hear from political candidates and a political columnist this fall as part of the weekly Vermont Politics Speaker Series at Johnson State College. The lectures are scheduled as part of state Sen. and Political Science Professor William Doyle’s “Campaign and Elections” class.
The public is invited to attend the free series held on Mondays from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in the Ellsworth Room of Willey Library Learning Center. There will be no session held Oct. 6, during JSC’s fall break.
The scheduled speakers include:
Aug. 25: candidates for governor
Sept. 1: Jon Margolis, columnist for VTDigger.org, providing an analysis of statewide races (note: Johnson State holds classes on Labor Day)
Sept. 8: Local legislative candidates
Sept. 15: Candidates for treasurer
Sept. 22: Candidates for lieutenant governor
Sept. 29: Candidates for secretary of state
Oct. 13: Candidates for auditor of account
Oct. 20: Candidates for U.S. Congress
Note: Depending on candidates’ schedules and state primary outcomes, their visits to Johnson State may be rescheduled. Please check http://events.jsc.edu/ on the day of the event to confirm details.
